Library 2.0

Better Library Services For More People - That's the name of the succinct Michael and Casey article ttp://www.techsource.ala.org/blog/2006/01/better-library-services-for-more-people.html and the rationale behind what we as librarians continue to work to provide. Only the tag and the technology is new; the concept and philosophy of service is not. It's great that so many librarians and library systems are trying to be proactive with regard to meeting users where they now live and incorporating Web/Library 2.0 training/partnerships for/with staff, and participation, interactivity, etc. for their customers. I also liked the idea of the brandy and single malt someone referred to related to holding onto some of our traditional roles... hmmm, maybe I better go back and reread that....
